Overview
The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program encourages candidates to develop skills in independent research as a pathway to a PhD. The duration of the program is between 1 and 2 years.
The School offers Masters of Philosophy programs in the following areas and/or disciplines.

Admission
Applicants are required to hold a Bachelors degree from a leading institution with Honours of at least 2A level in a relevant field. Applicants are also recommended to discuss their proposed program of study and topic with a staff member before submitting an application. Applicants with excellent potential who do not satisfy the minimum entry standard may enter through satisfactory completion of a preparatory program.
Entry to the program is available at any time. However, any coursework component is offered over two semesters commencing around March and July each year.

Program Structure
The MPhil is a research-based degree. Candidates are required to complete a research thesis comprising original work of not more than 60,000 words.
Candidates are also required to undertake at least three semester length courses from the following list (unless othersise approved by the school HDR convenor):
- MGMT8006 Management Research Methods
- MMIBXXXX Managing the research process
- MMIBXXXX Data analysis
- BUSN8018 Qualitative Research Methods
Supervision
Students are assigned a supervisor. Advisers may also be appointed. Students are expected to consult closely with their supervisor. The role of the supervisor is to provide students with regular assistance, advice and support and encouragement for a timely and successful completion.

can undertake the program on a HECS basis however some students may be eligible
for a HECS-exemption scholarship. Fees apply for international students.
